Your boiler should be cleaned at least once each year. Eliminating soot build-up in the boiler and tuning your burner will increase its efficiency.

If you have an old boiler then you may think about either replacing it with a newer version, or upgrading the old one to make it more efficient.

Do not install thermostats near areas of extreme temperatures such as the boiler room or the kitchen, or near doors that open to the outside, as these will cause the thermostat to give a false reading.

Weatherize your home by sealing windows and doors. You should also ensure that walls are properly insulated.
